Creative nonfiction is a prose genre that applies the techniques of literary craftsmanship to the task of accurately representing reality. In this course, we explore the theory and practice of creative nonfiction by reading and writing in a variety of forms, including profile, travel writing, memoir, personal essay, nature writing, and literary journalism. This course includes a heavy writing component, and your work is critiqued and edited in a workshop setting.
