My style of practice is informed by psychoanalytic principles derived from relational psychoanalysis, attachment theory, and humanistic approaches to psychotherapy. In my work I engage primarily with adults, working with individuals, couples and families. With DIS Since 2022.

Camilla Hoff-Jørgensen holds a BA in Nutrition and Health (2006) and a BA and cand.scient in Anthropology (2012). She worked as a cultural consultant in Japan concerning Danish and Scandinavian food culture and developing comparative studies of the Danish (European) and Japanese food culture. Moreover, she has international working experience in Bangkok and Barcelona. Camilla has done various research within the fields of medical anthropology and anthropology of food. As medical anthropologist, she has worked with harm reduction strategies for homeless and other at-risk populations. As an anthropologist with a background in food culture she has been a food study consultant and tought various food culture courses. Camilla is currently working on an experience design study covering restaurant NOMAs reaction to COVID19.

For two decades, I have taught courses in modern history at Northwestern University in the United States and Qatar in the Middle East. My teaching emphasises creative approaches to learning that builds bridges to the past. I am passionate about bringing history to life and introducing students to new places, people and ideas through innovative, student-focused pedagogy. Secretly, my goal is to turn all students into historians! In 2022 I joined DIS as a teaching and learning specialist in the Learning Lab and a faculty member in the European Humanities Department focusing on 20th Century Europe. Away from the classroom, I research and write about the American Revolution. I am fascinated by the minority of Americans who opposed independence and remained loyal to Britain. Obtained her PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, from Pierre & Marie Curie University in Paris (France). Her research interest started with language acquisition in infants leading to the study of the cerebral processing of language and music in adults. She became interested in neurodevelopmental disorders starting with developmental dyslexia then expending into autism spectrum disorders as well as ADHD. She is using techniques from psychology as well as neuroimaging in her research, this includes MRI (anatomical and functional) as well as EEG and eye tracking. She has been conducting her latest research at Karolinska Institutet Center for Neuro-developmental Disorders (KIND). Her interests include social cognitive skills, empathy and emotion processing within the whole spectrum of functioning from typicality till disorders such as ASD. She has been with DIS since 2016.

Emily Brocks is a Danish-American and has extensive experience teaching & developing workshops for youth and adults on the themes of authenticity and body awareness. She has been an external lecturer at DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia since 2010, and most recently teaches a course she developed called Is the Future Feminine?. Emily also develops professional development courses focused on authenticity and menstrual & menopausal awareness in the workplace. Additionally, Emily works with local Danish youth through her company GirlCollecetive which offers workshops about puberty, sexuality and relationships. Emily has an educational background in gender studies and social work, and is also a certified NLP coach practitioner, Kundalini yoga teacher, women’s circle leader and Shakti Yoga mentor. Iwo Nord is a trans researcher and educator interested in transgender and queer lives and culture, nuances of agency and power, intersections of the transnational and the local, and questions concerning mobility (travel and migration). The past years he has been committed to building and strengthening Transgender Studies in both the Nordic region and in the former Yugoslav space. Devoted to social change for trans people, he is involved in trans academic and activist alliances, resulting in the forthcoming collaborative volume In Transition: Trans Lives, Activisms, and Culture in the Post-Yugoslav Space, edited by Bojan Bilić, Iwo Nord and Aleksa Milanović. He was one of the founding members of Trans Fest Stockholm, an activist collective that strives to create inclusive and empowering cultural and community events in the Swedish capital. Iwo is a PhD candidate in Gender Studies at Södertörn University, and is affiliated with the Center for Baltic and East European Studies. His doctoral project ethnographically explores Belgrade as a transnational destination for gender-affirming surgery. Prof. Rager earned his Ph.D. from Northwestern University.  He is a full professor at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts where he has taught since 1988.  He has always been interested in languages, both human and computer.  His dissertation was in the field of symbolic natural language processing and subsequent to that his research has shifted to (among other things) natural language processing using machine learning.  He has also worked on applying Artificial Intelligence to teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. This work was motivated by the difficulties faced by English teachers in Moldova, where he was a Fulbright Scholar during the 2003-04 academic year. His teaching has often touched on language. For example, he has taught a seminar for first-year students called “Natural and Unnatural Languages.” The material in that course included “traditional” natural language processing as done in artificial intelligence, but also a discussion of rhetorical devices in Shakespeare, a reading of parts of Finnegan’s Wake and a discussion of language evolution.  He has also taught a course on Digital Textual Analysis. That course discussed the computer science (e.g. topic modeling, Naive Bayes classification) used in papers in digital humanities. The course included both Computer Science and Humanities students, who worked together in groups on projects.

Monica obtained her PhD in Medical Science, from Karolinska Institutet (KI; Sweden). A clinical psychologist by training, she became interested in neurodevelopmental disorders during her clinical practice. She then went on to do her MSc in Developmental Psychopathology at Durham University, followed by her PhD at KI where she combined eye tracking and twin modelling to investigate the relative contribution of genes and environment to autistic and ADHD traits, oculomotor behavior, and the association between them. She recently completed her postdoctoral training at Stanford University where she used a combination of neuroimaging modalities and psychological assessments to characterize the effects of rare genetic variation on brain morphology to better understand psychiatric disorders. Her interests include socio-communicative skills, attention, neurogenetic syndromes, neurodevelopmental disorders, and white matter. With DIS since 2023.

POST-fellow at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Memphis, 2016). Active in Genomics research since 2015 with several publications in genetics and bioethics with a focus on childhood cancer. He is conducting one of Denmark’s largest genomics studies offering whole-genome sequencing to any cancer patient under 18 years old. Teaching at DIS since 2017. Currently on leave.

Prior to that, she has held research positions at the Center for Advanced Security Studies, KU (2009-12), the Center for Military Studies, KU (2006-2009), and the Center for American Studies, University of Southern Denmark (2005-06). In 2010-11 she was a visiting scholar a the London School of Economics and over the past for years, she has been an afiliate researcher at the Center for Right Wing Studies, Berkeley, University of California. Vibeke is the author of a wide range of articles, book chapters and books on American and European history, democracy and foreign policy.
