DIS Care Team

DIS Copenhagen Care Team

Given the transitions, adjustments, and adaption you go through while studying abroad, it is important that you have support. If you have, or develop, mental or physical health issues, you have access to our Care Team staff who are trained to help you in times of difficulty through support services available during your time at DIS.

Members of the Care Team are administrative staff at DIS – not doctors or counselors. If a case demands professional assistance, the Care Team will advise you on how to see appropriate medical professionals.

To book an appointment with the Care Team, use our online booking platform. You can also reach out to the Care Team via email (care@dis.dk).

Conversations with the Care Team are private, but not confidential. Utilizing the Care Team serves as your consent to processing of the information you choose to share with the Care Team, which may include sharing of information with individuals outside of DIS. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions about what this means before and throughout your conversations with the Care Team.

Referral to an External Provider

If necessary, DIS can refer you to an outside affiliated psychologist/psychiatrist or assist you in accessing other resources. In most cases, DIS insurance will be able to cover these referrals. If you decide to find your own provider, DIS can share a list of therapists or doctors who have previously worked with DIS students.

If the Care Team refers you to a trained psychologist/psychiatrist at a local clinic, and you do not show up for the scheduled appointment or fail to cancel 24 hours in advance, you will be charged 1,000 DKK.

Though the Care Team can assist you in navigating the health care system, you do not need to work through the team to see a doctor. Find details on seeing a doctor, going to the hospital, or finding a dentist here.
