DIS Stockholm offers access to multiple academic databases:

  • Britannica
An online encyclopedia with articles on all sorts of topics.
  • Ebsco Academic Search Elite
A database that provides full text for more than 2,000 journals. In addition to the full text, indexing and abstracts are provided for all 3,466 journals. The database covers most of the fields taught at DIS, i.e. architecture, business, health sciences, humanities, social sciences, and politics. Full-text information in this database dates as far back as 1985.Choose which database you want to search in or switch through them as needed, by clicking the “choose databases” link on the top of the search field. It is also here you will find our collection of e-books. Simply choose the database “eBook Collection.”
  • JSTOR
JSTOR is a digital library founded in 1995. Originally containing digitized back issues of academic journals, it now also includes books and primary sources, and current issues of journals. It provides full-text searches of almost 2,000 journals. To access JSTOR, you need to be on a DIS location using DIS wifi – no login needed. When searching, it is useful to set the access type to “Content I can access.” That way you only get results where you can read the full text.
  • Ordbogen.com – Swedish-English/English-Swedish Dictionary
An online dictionary for Swedish and English translating. Also contains Danish language. To access Ordbogen.com, use the login you received through email at the beginning of the semester.
