Complete Your Online Pre-Departure Course

Before your semester start, you will receive an invitation to Compass, your DIS online pre-departure course. This course will benefit you greatly; it was designed by alumni and DIS staff to answer frequently asked questions and serve as a resource for you before and during your time abroad. It is mandatory to complete before arrival at DIS.

Stay Updated with Communication from DIS

Check your email regularly! You are responsible for staying up-to-date on pre-departure communication from DIS:

  • From registration to arrival: You will complete the Compass Course; meanwhile DIS will send newsletters of important arrival and registration information as well as helpful pre-departure advice
  • Six to eight weeks before arrival: DIS will issue invoices either to you directly or to your home university
Learn more on the Tuition and Fees pages
  • Ten days before arrival: DIS will email your DIS arranged housing placement
