In this immersive course, explore the intersection of art, nature, and environmental consciousness. Beyond scientific data and reports on climate change, art can help us connect with nature and reimagine our engagement with the environmental challenges of today. From classic landscape paintings to the groundbreaking Earth Art movement in the late 20th century, to artists working across science and art today, we will study historical and contemporary artistic practices and scientific theories that reflect our evolving relationship with nature. During the course, we engage in individual and collaborative art projects using sustainable materials.
