Take the Classroom on the Road
While on tour, theories learned in the classroom come to life by meeting with professionals and experts in your field who contribute to furthering your understanding of course topics.
Study Tours are hands-on and experiential, combining theory with practice, and expose you to various cultural perspectives. You visit sites and experts in your field of interest that you may not otherwise access.
Connecting with Classmates
During the week, you unpack observations and reflect with fellow classmates and faculty, as you sit down for meals and discuss what you’ve seen, who you’ve met, and the new perspectives that you’ve gained. Additionally, attending performances, eating cuisine, meeting with locals, or visiting historical sites contextualize the culture and place you are visiting.
Where do DIS Study Tours take you?
All over Europe! From London to Vienna, the Netherlands, Poland, and the Faroe Islands, you travel to exciting destinations that are relevant to your studies.

During our Study Tour to Karasjok and Tromsø, we spoke to physicians about the importance of teamwork in regional and rural hospitals. We met researchers, politicians, and even a radio talk show host. This emphasized that knowing the history, culture, and lifestyle of the people is vital to creating a good healthcare system. My favorite cultural visit was when we rode a cable car up and ate at a restaurant on top of the mountain.
