Glutenfri Stockholm and Copenhagen

If you have Celiac Disease or are gluten intolerant, Scandinavia is a good place to study abroad, with gluten-free produce available in most large supermarkets and some special bakeries in Stockholm and Copenhagen.

Supermarkets

Some supermarket chains have a larger choice of gluten-free products than others. Keep in mind that gluten-free products may be shelved alongside regular versions of the same item. If you do not find what you’re looking for, try another location in the city as stock varies between supermarkets. Don’t be afraid to speak to a store manager, who may be able to order more gluten free products for your local supermarket.

In Denmark, grocery stores Irma and Rema 1000 have a selection of gluten free items, from pizza mix, flour, and bread to gluten free raviolis and pre-packaged meals. In Sweden, supermarket chains ICA, Coop, and Hemköp tend to have a larger selection of gluten-free options.
