Fall Program At-A-Glance, IEW at DIS

The Spring 2020 International Educators Workshop (IEW) will start in Copenhagen and end in Stockholm. The week will follow a similar format to the schedule below.

Inspired by Summer 2019’s International Educators Conference (IEC), the Spring 2020 IEW will have daily themes: DislocationTrust, 55°N, 12°E, Lagom, and Footprints.


Sunday (Copenhagen)

  • Recommended arrival to Copenhagen (all participants staying in a Homestay should plan to arrive on this date, see the accommodations page for more information)

Monday (Copenhagen): Dislocation

  • Check-in
  • Plenary Session: Dislocation
  • Custom IEW Field Studies throughout Copenhagen
  • Opening Session: Introduction to DIS Identity & Mission
  • Reception with DIS staff and faculty

Tuesday (Copenhagen): Trust

  • Plenary Session: Trust
  • Attend classes*
  • Discussion sessions on topics in education abroad, aligned with the daily theme
  • Student panel or meet with students from your home institution
  • Small group hygge dinners hosted by DIS staff and faculty

Wednesday (Copenhagen): 55°N, 12°E

Thursday (Stockholm): Lagom

  • Plenary Session: Lagom
  • Custom IEW Field Studies throughout Stockholm
  • Attend Core Classes*
  • Fika with DIS students

Friday (Stockholm): Footprints

  • Attend classes*
  • A discussion session or excursion on a topic in education abroad, aligned with the daily theme
  • Tour of DIS Stockholm housing options
  • Plenary Session: Footprints
  • Concluding dinner

Saturday (Stockholm)

  • Departure for U.S.
