Arranged by DIS: Stay in a Homestay with Local Hosts
The Homestay option is the highest-evaluated housing choice at DIS by outgoing students, as it allows you to live as the locals do. Most of our hosts, as in U.S. cities, live in the suburbs and not in the city center, so you will travel daily on Stockholm’s public transit system for up to 60 minutes each way using a transportation pass provided to you by DIS.
Homestays are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and have a fee of $500 per person. DIS may be able to accommodate early arrivals to homestays on Saturday, June 8, for participants wishing to spend more time with the hosts. If you’re interested in arriving on Saturday and taking part in your hosts’ weekend plans, email IEC@dis.dk. While DIS cannot guarantee Homestay accommodations on Saturday, June 8, we are happy to facilitate if possible. The deadline for registering for a Homestay is March 31.
