DIS at The Stockholm Model Event in Washington, D.C.

KTH, the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and one of Europe’s leading technical universities, invited DIS to participate in the first Stockholm Model Event at the House of Sweden in Washington, D.C.

DIS DIS Stockholm Semester

The Stockholm Model event was hosted by KTH, the Embassy of Sweden, and the City of Stockholm. It brought together top representatives from academia, business, and government. Approximately 90 participants from Sweden and the U.S. were in attendance.

The goal of the event was to strengthen internationalization and partnership between Sweden and the U.S., specifically to collaborate on sustainability, urbanization and climate action, to create a better future through research and innovation.

The presentations sparked excitement and energy around the research and cooperation to meet sustainability goals. Topics included app development, gamification, machine learning, and data visualization to understand own energy consumption. It was exciting to learn about the commitment and initiatives going on in Stockholm to make energy use more efficient, and important discussions were held about ways to further build the collaboration between the DIS engineering program and KTH.
