International Educators Workshop in Stockholm and Copenhagen

DIS welcomed education abroad professionals to an International Educators Workshop (IEW) at our DIS Copenhagen and DIS Stockholm location this spring.

During the IEW, DIS invites colleagues in study abroad and higher education to come to Scandinavia to learn about DIS Stockholm and DIS Copenhagen. The week focuses on experiencing the life of DIS students and introduces our colleagues to the inspiring cities that their students call home. The workshop highlights the experiential and collaborative learning techniques that are central to DIS.

The participants of this spring’s IEW sat in in on classes, visited housing sites, went on Field Studies, and had hygge dinners and fika with colleagues – a taste of the life-long connections and exchange that students experience while abroad. The IEW cohort traveled between Copenhagen and Stockholm by train, which besides being a sustainable way of transportation also offered participants to take in the beautiful landscapes of Sweden.

It was a true joy to welcome our partners back in Scandinavia once again after a long hiatus. We hope that everyone had a wonderful experience learning about the DIS programs, as well as the local cultures, and we look forward to more collaborations in the future! Thank you to all those who participated, and the DIS staff and faculty who helped make it happen.
