DIS Joins The Fund for Education Abroad

DIS has joined The Fund for Education Abroad as an Access Partner.

The Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) is a non-profit organization, which provides scholarships to minority, first-generation, and other types of underrepresented students in the U.S. DIS recently joined FEA’s Access Partners. Each Access Partner pledges $5,000 per semester to support FEA scholarship applicants participating in their programs.

We are proud to join forces with FEA and the many Access Partners who share our belief in the expansive experiences that international educational offers as well as our longstanding commitment to access and inclusion in study abroad.” – Malene Torp, Executive Director of DIS

Brad Stepan, Director of North American Operations, will join the FEA Access Advisory Board (AAB). This body provides feedback about the Access Partner program. In the AAB, Brad will work with representatives from the other FEA Access Partners, such as: AIFS Study Abroad, CAPA The Global Education Network, SIT Study Abroad, The Institute for Study Abroad (IFSA-Butler), Terra Dotta, The Intern Group, The University of Auckland, School for Field Studies (SFS), CET Academic Programs, University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC), GoAbroad.com, and FIE: Foundation for International Education.

We are thrilled to welcome DIS as an Access Partner as we work collaboratively with a growing group of leaders in international education to change the face of study abroad.” – Jennifer Calvert, Executive Director of FEA

Additionally, DIS alumnus – and now FEA Board Member – Amar Rewari, M.D. has established The A. Rewari Family Scholarship for Study Abroad in Denmark with FEA. This new scholarship became available in the 2019-2020 FEA application cycle. Dr. Rewari studied European politics at DIS during the Fall 1999 semester.
