Alicia’s article, titled ‘Progress Through Marginalization: Jewish Women at the Forefront of the German Women’s Moment, is part of the third issue of On Our Terms, the undergraduate academic journal of the Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College. The article is based on her final paper written for the DIS course History of Jewish Life in Europe, taught by faculty member Thorsten Wagner. The article explores “the tri-marginalization of Jewish-German women of the Kaiserreich era,” and fits well into the journal’s focus on creating content that questions the limitations of women’s leadership.
Thorsten Wagner was extremely pleased to hear of Alicia’s recent publication, saying, “This is a phenomenal example of how going abroad for a semester can be an intellectual challenge that radically widens one’s horizon.”
