Art, Place, and Mindful Practice

Art, Place, and Mindful Practice

About this course

To be fully present in life, it is necessary to stop and observe; practicing mindfulness is a way to learn from novel environments rather than just passing through. In this course, we develop the practice of mindful observation through drawing and creative writing on location, engaging all of our senses in meaningful spots around Copenhagen. Creative exercises and readings in literature and philosophy will help us develop an understanding of place, presence, and the process of slowing down, while also working towards connecting new experiences with our previous life experiences.
