Health, safety, and support

Whether you are in Sweden, Denmark, or traveling while studying with DIS, your health and safety are among our top priorities.

Our extensive health and safety programs are designed to provide support every step of the way. We also help students become well-informed, active participants in their own wellbeing through pre-departure advising, onsite orientations, online resources, and more.

DIS Care Team

Given the transitions, adjustments, and adaption you go through while studying abroad, it is important that you have support. If you have or develop mental or physical health issues while abroad, you will have access to our Care Team staff who are trained to help you in times of difficulty through support services available during your time at DIS.

Members of the Care Team are administrative staff at DIS, not doctors or counselors. If a case demands professional assistance, the Care Team will advise you on how to see appropriate medical professionals.

Safety tips, emergency preparedness, and response

While emergencies are rare, DIS has established contingency plans in place to mitigate risk to students and respond. No organization or institution can guarantee the safety of participants abroad, but the risks can be significantly reduced if staff, students, parents, and advisers at the home institutions all work together.
