DIS Care Team
Given the transitions, adjustments, and adaption you go through while studying abroad, it is important that you have support. If you have or develop mental or physical health concerns while abroad, or would just like a listening ear, the Care Team is a great resource.
Trained to support onsite DIS students, members of the Care Team are administrative staff at DIS, not doctors or counselors. They have years of experience helping students navigate transition, process challenging life events, navigate local healthcare systems, and more. If a case demands professional assistance, the Care Team will refer you to a local English-speaking professional. You may find their contact information in the DIS Navigate App.
Safety tips, emergency preparedness, and response
While emergencies are rare, DIS has established contingency plans in place to mitigate risk to students and respond. No organization or institution can guarantee the safety of participants abroad, but the risks can be significantly reduced if staff, students, parents, and advisers at the home institutions all work together.
