Create your unique summer with DIS
Earn credits, dive into interesting academic subjects, and get to know Scandinavian culture firsthand. With diverse summer course offerings across Stockholm and Copenhagen, you can build a summer that fits your academic goals and personal interests while gaining real-world experience and making connections.
How to build your summer
DIS offers three- and six-week sessions with different start and end dates, allowing you to take one course per session. Choose to study in Stockholm, Copenhagen, or both. Stay for one session or combine them for six to nine weeks and earn up to nine credits.
Mix, match, and save
Experience both Scandinavian capitals in a single summer and get a $1,200 discount for each additional session you add.

Make the city your classroom
DIS courses bring you outside the classroom with Field Studies—exploring the city, meeting experts, and gaining firsthand insights into your course topics.
Visit startups in the Swedish tech scene, explore Danish design history at architectural sites, and get to know each city through an academic lens.
Experience summer in Scandinavia
Summer is a special time in Scandinavia, where locals flock outside to enjoy the seemingly endless daylight and the numerous festivals and events.
You can make yourself at home in each city, swimming in the Copenhagen canals, exploring Stockholm’s archipelago, and joining in midsummer traditions.
Explore Europe on Study Tour
Travel to a different European destination on a faculty-led Study Tour to see your course topic in real-life contexts in a new culture.
Study Tour is included in all courses under Session 2, Architecture & Design Session, Furniture Design Sessions, and select courses in Labs, Research, & Practicums Session.
Studying in both Stockholm and Copenhagen?
Transportation between sessions
If you choose multiple Summer Sessions in both Stockholm and Copenhagen, DIS provides transportation between the cities at the end of your session, including stops for sightseeing, lunch, and a chance to connect with fellow students on the same journey.
You may also arrange your own travel if you prefer. Check-in at your new housing starts on Arrival Day, and you’ll need to attend the mandatory Arrival Workshop upon arrival.

DIS-CYA partnership course
June 16 – July 12
4 weeks | 4 credits
Study in both Scandinavia and Greece through our special partnership courses with College Year in Athens to explore cultural differences between northern and southern Europe.
This course begins in Copenhagen before you then transfer to Athens, Greece for the second half of the course.
