Summer housing
Discover your summer housing experience
Your housing is a key part of your study abroad. As a DIS summer student, you’ll live in well-located, community-focused housing designed to foster independence and cultural immersion, helping you make the most of your time abroad.
Where you’ll live
DIS housing is spread across various neighborhoods and suburbs, giving you an authentic local experience as you make the city your home.
Who you’ll live with
Most students will share a room with fellow DIS students enrolled in the same summer session, arriving and departing together. In some residences, you might also have local students as flatmates, adding a unique cultural dimension to your experience.
You’ll collaborate on maintaining shared spaces—cleaning, grocery shopping, and cooking. This setup builds a close-knit community, where you’ll form friendships and explore the city together.
See summer tuitions and fees for information on housing inclusions.
Housing between sessions
If you enroll in consecutive summer sessions and sign up for the DIS-arranged transportation for mix and match students, you will be housed over the weekend in between them.
Independent housing
If your home university allows it, you may arrange your own housing. If you do choose this option, DIS cannot assist with rent payments, deposits, furnishing, bedding, transportation costs, etc.
The deadline for requesting DIS housing is approximately one month before your earliest Arrival Day.
