About this course
This course investigates the present state of design in the Nordics, touching on design at many scales from the Nordic region. It also critically evaluates the relevance of regional design characteristics in the globalized world of today.
Throughout the semester, the course will investigate the distinction between ‘making’ – how cultural products like architecture, design, fashion etc., come about – and ‘identity’ – what these cultural products mean to individuals, to communities, and to society. Field Studies to sites in Copenhagen are an integral part of the course.
