About this course
This course investigates the present state of design in Scandinavia – the New Nordic. You touch on design at all scales from the Scandinavian region, and the relevance of regional design characteristics in the globalized world of today are critically evaluated. Throughout the course you investigate the distinction between ‘making’ – how cultural products like architecture, design, literature, film, food, etc., come about – and ‘identity’ – what these cultural products mean to individuals, to communities, and to society. Field Studies to illustrate sites in Copenhagen form an integral part of the course.
