About this course
In this course, we will explore the economic dimensions of the global sustainability transition. Through topics such as climate policy, carbon pricing, renewable energy, food systems, environmental valuation, and green finance, we will examine the trade-offs, tensions, and unintended consequences that accompany efforts to build a greener economy. We will take a critical perspective on questions of growth, equity, political power, and environmental limits, while introducing key tools and concepts from environmental economics. Combining theory, case studies, fieldwork, and discussion, together we will learn to apply economic reasoning to some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.
