Give the gift of a lifetime

Help the next generation study abroad by donating to DIS. Learn more about donations below.

How to give

Once a DIS student. Always a DIS student.

Since 1959, students have traveled to Scandinavia to study, explore, and maybe even change the trajectory of their lives. Whenever you studied with us, we are proud to be part of your story—and we are excited to welcome you into our vibrant Alumni Community!

Learn more about how you can stay connected, expand your network, find resources, and maybe even return to Scandinavia below.

Find your way back to Scandinavia

There are so many paths back to Copenhagen and Stockholm, and we want to help you get here. We hire alumni for our internships and post any open positions on our careers page. We also facilitate a fellowship with Karolinska Institute for recent graduates.

Receiving a transcript

You’ll receive a grade report via email 30-45 days after your term ends. At the same time, your transcript will be sent to your school.

Requesting an official transcript

Order your transcript through Parchment Exchange. First-time requesters must create a new account on their website. Your DIS login credentials are not associated with Parchment.

Students who were required to pay the School of Record fee should request additional transcripts through the University of Minnesota’s Parchment Exchange Service (instead of the link above).

Request a reference from a DIS faculty member

Applying to graduate programs, jobs, or fellowships, and want to request a reference from a DIS faculty member? Contact them directly on LinkedIn well ahead of any deadlines. Please note that faculty availability depends on their workload.

If you need help making contact, you’re welcome to reach out to our Alumni team.

Re-enter the classroom from the comfort of your own home

The intellectual curiosity sparked at DIS doesn’t disappear once you return home.

Virtual DIS Talks, led by expert faculty, are free events offered throughout the year where you can continue learning and gain new perspectives on the grand challenges of our time. Topics span the DIS curriculum, so you can explore current geo-political challenges, Nordic parenting trends, climate change strategies, or Scandinavian design.

The DIS Alumni Community: Our story

Launched in 2023, our Alumni Community continues to evolve and invite alumni to stay connected, grow together, and build on the legacy we’ve already started. Hear from our Executive Director, Malene Torp, as she shares why this initiative was launched, what inspired it, and the doors it opens.
