Course Instructors:
Henriette Rald: Henriette works as a consultant at DIS, where she supports organizational development and strategic initiatives, including work related to the 2024–2026 strategy and beyond. She has + 20 years of experience working in top management with strategy, leadership and strategic communication. Henriette is also a parttime faculty and teaches ‘Shifting Gears: Leadership Principles in Road Cycling’ – a dynamic, hands-on leadership course that quite literally hits the road. In this class-on-wheels, students form cycling teams and develop leadership and teamwork skills through real-time challenges. Each ride is followed by academic reflection, connecting embodied physical learning experiences with leadership theory.

Alison Ryncarz: Alison has been with DIS since 2015. After attending DIS in the Spring 2014 semester, she has worked as a Marketing Assistant (2015-2016), Communications Specialist (2017-2019), Outreach Manager (2019-2023) and most recently as a Director of Communications. She has a M.A. in Human Resources & Industrial Relations (University of Minnesota, 2022) and a B.A. in Strategic Communication (Elon University, 2015). In addition to her work as a Director of Communications, she co-teaches the ‘Shifting Gears’ course with Henriette.
