About this course

This course provides you with an overall understanding of the human immune system. It emphasizes different immune phases and modalities necessary to help fight infections. It provides examples of clinically relevant infectious agents to illustrate and analyze immune responses leading to health or disease. In addition, this course highlights immunological methods utilized to monitor the course of infections and to develop vaccines. Knowledge acquired in this course is used to analyze several concrete clinical examples, such as the immune responses to SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19.
