DIS welcomes education abroad professionals, faculty, administrators, academic advisors, and student affairs staff to an International Educators Workshop (IEW) at DIS Stockholm and DIS Copenhagen each semester.

Register for the Fall 2025 IEW

Monday, October 20 – Friday, October 24

Can’t make it this fall? Our next IEW will be April 13-17, 2026.

A week with DIS

Centered around the student experience, the IEW is a hands-on, interactive way to help you better advise your students – from the curriculum and housing options to differences between the cities and the cultures.

The week provides opportunities to:

  • Discuss key topics in study abroad with participants and DIS staff/faculty – e.g. place-based learning, student wellbeing and sense of belonging, and universal design learning principles
  • Delve into the DIS curriculum through high-impact learning practices and attending classes and Field Studies
  • Explore collaboration opportunities like custom & faculty-led programs, research, conference presentations, etc.
  • Uncover the ethos of Scandinavia like dialogue, trust, ‘the good life,’ openness & transparency, innovation, and nature

*See the full course lists and syllabi in the Course Finder – not all classes are open to visitors due to scheduling restrictions.

Here’s how to prepare for your stay

Booking your accommodation

We recommend staying somewhere close to DIS Stockholm, located in a building shared with the Royal College of Music Stockholm (KMH). See DIS Stockholm on Google Maps.

Our top hotel recommendations

**DIS has a discount agreement with these hotels. Please contact the IEW team for the booking codes.

Optional Homestay with local hosts

The Homestay option is arranged by DIS and only available in Stockholm, with arrival on Sunday and departure on Wednesday evening.

Homestays provide a great introduction to local culture. Most of our hosts, as in U.S. cities, live in the suburbs and not in the city center, so you will travel daily on Stockholm’s public transit system up to 60 minutes each way using a transportation pass provided to you by DIS. Homestays are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you’re interested in arriving on Saturday and taking part in your hosts’ weekend plans, contact our IEW team. While we cannot guarantee Homestay accommodations on Saturday, we are happy to facilitate if possible.

Booking your accommodation

We recommend staying somewhere nearby DIS Copenhagen, which is located in the heart of the historic inner city. See DIS Copenhagen on Google Maps.
