We offer high-level courses in Stockholm and Copenhagen, all taught in English. All our courses are highly experiential with Field Studies across the city and faculty-led Study Tours to Europe.

What is DIS?
DIS is a non-profit study abroad organization that has existed for more than 60 years. DIS provides semester, academic year, and summer programs taught in English.

Our intellectually challenging curriculum is broad, cutting edge, and enriched by experiential learning components. It provides students with opportunities for meaningful cultural engagement and personal growth, which is further enriched through housing and extracurricular offerings.
What makes Scandinavia a great place to study abroad?
Stockholm and Copenhagen are some of the most livable cities in the world, where locals enjoy a high quality of life in a vibrant capital. Getting around by public transport or bike is easy, and both cities are known for being very safe.

If you choose to study abroad with DIS, you will attend classes at the heart of the city, close to the waterfront, historical buildings, great study spots, quaint cafés, and rich cultural activities. Housing is provided by DIS, and there are many great options to choose between.

How do I build my semester with DIS?
DIS offers you freedom of choice when it comes to building your semester, allowing you to pursue your academic or personal goals in Stockholm or Copenhagen.

The first step in building your semester is to choose your Core Course. This is a signature of the DIS academic experience and includes two course-integrated Study Tours in Europe. Then, add 3-4 elective courses to complete your schedule! Once you have applied, you can choose between a variety of housing options.

Are there scholarships available?
Yes! DIS offers need and merit-based awards and is committed to supporting students with limited financial resources, from diverse backgrounds, and/or underrepresented populations in study abroad. On average, over 50% of all students receive financial support from DIS.

Can I apply as a first-year student?
Yes! You are welcome to apply at any time. We require that you have completed two semesters by the time of participation.
