Student Blogger applicants are expected to submit a published WordPress website.
Read this WordPress Blog Guide and complete the following steps:
- Create a new blog dedicated to the topic of your semester abroad on WordPress. We ask that you only use WordPress due to technical issues with other blogging platforms
- Add a predeparture blog post. Here you can write about your personal background, why you chose to study abroad, and goals for your upcoming semester with DIS
- Add an “About Me” page introducing yourself. This is usually the first place people click on a blog so make sure it stands out!
Once you have completed the steps above, submit your application by filling out the form below.

Student Photographer applicants are expected to submit a link to an online portfolio—whether it’s a website, Google Drive folder, or a digital presentation.
While a DSLR isn’t required, we highly encourage you to bring your own camera, as our equipment is limited and may not always be available when you need it.

Student Videographer applicants are expected to submit at least one sample of your work on a public platform like Vimeo, YouTube, Google Drive, or social media so we can view it.
You don’t need a DSLR, though bringing your own camera or even using your phone is recommended since our equipment is limited and may not always be available.
Having video editing software on your computer will also streamline the production process, but if you don’t have one, DIS will provide it for you.
