Are you taking the first steps on the path to your future career, and are you curious about what it is like to work in Scandinavia? This housing option has an added focus on learning about Scandinavian work life through sharing and exploring career aspirations with your peers and our LLC Coordinator.
Career Connection LLC Highlights

You do not need a specific major or academic background to apply for this option – just a sincere interest in learning about different career paths from an international perspective. - Networking and Interpersonal Skills
By attending gatherings and events within the LLC, you can form a broader connection to and be inspired by like-minded students and professionals from a variety of work fields. - Professional Development & Insight
Gain knowledge about Swedish work culture through site visits, guest speakers and career relevant events. You will be able to share insights with your LLC Coordinator about the various aspects of professional life in your respective cultures. The program will also offer skill-building events such as a resumé or salary negotiation workshop - Unique Cross-Cultural Experiences & Personal Growth
Living in a community with shared interests provides you with a support network, and the basis to continue to develop your professional goals with new perspectives on your future career
Examples of Career Connection LLC Activities (may vary each semester)
- Meet with DIS alumni who have returned to Scandinavia for work or study
- How to highlight your study abroad experience in the job interview process
- How to negotiate a salary with an employer
- Burnout and how it impacts the body
- Site/workplace visits based on the group interests
Students in the Career Connection LLC who sign up for the Visiting Host Program will be matched with a Visiting Host in a field relevant to your studies. Ultimately, many factors go into matching, with specific occupation being just one factor. Read more about the Visiting Host Program here. Once you are admitted to DIS Stockholm, you can apply for the Visiting Host Program before you depart for Stockholm in DIS Student Registration.
