March 12, Archived Alert Related to COVID-19 (Information on Departing Stockholm)

March 12, 2020

Dear DIS Stockholm students,

You know from our message from earlier this morning that DIS Stockholm has suspended all in-person activities from today. You are now all asked to depart Stockholm as soon as possible, and no later than Thursday, March 19. DIS housing will remain open and support services will be available until March 19. As you rebook your flight, know that due to current travel advisories, many airlines are allowing changes at no cost. If you need financial support, DIS will cover up to $300 in change fees; details will be sent tomorrow. If you are unable to rebook your flight, please contact studytours@dis.dk for assistance.

When you leave please remember:
1) To pack your books so you can continue your course online later
2) Notify us on care@disstockholm.se about your departure date and time

If you are in shared housing (Folkhögskola, LLC , Studentboende, Residential Community): DIS staff will be at your housing site in the common room between 10.15 a.m. and noon today in order to answer questions.

  • For your check-out please just leave room keys, ICA cards, DIS Cards on your beds.

If you live with a Homestay, please contact us on host@disstockholm.se or on 010-1751313 if you have questions.

  • For your check-out please leave your key and any other belongings that belong to your hosts with them and notify them about your travel plans.

More guidance in regards to your academics and the roll out of remote learning will follow shortly

It was with heavy hearts that we made the decision to suspend all person activities. None of us had envisaged this semester to end so promptly. For now, we will focus on your travels home and then on connecting you with the DIS faculty in the best way possible.

Warmest regards and safe travels! Tack och ses snart.

On behalf of the entire DIS Stockholm Team,

Marcel Grüninger and Tina Mangieri
