Located in the Baltic Sea southeast of Copenhagen, Bornholm is an ex- German and Soviet outpost, and one of the most scenic areas in Denmark. The island is crisscrossed with 250 kilometers of bike paths, praised as being among the best and most beautiful in Northern Europe.
You will stay at a hostel by the sea on the east coast, and start your adventure from there. In addition to biking, you can go for a hike, sample the smoked herring, visit one of the many glass blowing or ceramics studios, or take a ferry to the neighboring island of Christiansø.
You will take an overnight ferry to Bornholm, which allows two full days of biking. When you arrive in the morning, you receive a bike, map, and a variety of suggested routes – and can choose your own adventure from there.
