Live like a local and sign up to rent a bike with these deals arranged with the below bike companies. Copenhageners bike winter, spring, summer, and fall, rain, snow, or shine. So, the summer is a wonderful time of the year to hop on a bike!
Take Part in the Local Culture: Rent a Bike
You can arrange to rent a bike before you arrive in Copenhagen or you can wait until you arrive. DIS currently has informal partnerships with these bike companies who have offered to give DIS students special deals. While these deals are special for DIS students, you have the freedom to choose other bike companies if you prefer to do so:
- ABC Student Bikes
- Baisikeli Bike Rental
- BikeCPH.dk/ Ama’r Cykelservice (Note: This shop is near housing locations in Amager. Use code: disamager)
- A Copenhagenbicycles
- Rosenborg Cykler
Note: We have discontinued our partnership with Rent Your Bike Here and Nørregade Cykler, and highly recommend that you refer to the above bicycle shops instead.
Short Term Rentals
If you do not want to rent a bike for your full time here, but want to occasionally borrow a bike or you visitors, past students have used these bike rental companies:
- Copenhagen Bicycles offers short term rentals (up to one week) with a 20% discount if you show your DIS ID card
You can also sign up for a bike tour through Copenhagen Fairy Tales, a Copenhagen-based sightseeing company.
DIS strongly encourages you to wear a helmet while biking. Not sure what size helmet you need? Using a tape measure, wrap it about 1 inch above your eyebrows, then match those measurements with the sizes below:
Small: 20″-21.75″ (51cm-55cm)
Medium: 21.75″-23.25″ (55cm-59cm)
Large: 23.25″-24.75″ (59cm-63cm)
