While in Denmark and as a current student at DIS Copenhagen, you have the option of using a local bank in Copenhagen.

DIS Agreement With a Local Bank

To make banking in Denmark easier for you, DIS has an agreement that gives you the ability to:

  • Open (and close) a Danish bank account
  • Exchange money

General Bank Opening Hours

  • Monday – Wednesday & Friday: around 10:00 – 16:00
  • On Thursdays, banks stay open later until 18:00
  • Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays

Cashing Checks in Denmark

As of 2017, Danish banks will only cash checks issued by the same bank before December 31, 2016.

Opening A Danish Bank Account

If you want to open a bank account while in Denmark, use the following location:

Remember to bring your DIS Student ID, passport, and CPR number.

At the end of the semester, be sure to go back to the bank to physically withdraw your balance and close the account.
