Are you a royalist at heart and interested in getting behind the scenes of one of Europe’s oldest monarchies? Or curious to know more about how current discourses on power and equality in Denmark impact the Danish monarchy?  – Then this tour is for you!

Denmark’s royal family has had a significant impact on the history, art, architecture, and urban planning of the country. But why do Danes continually support the monarchy in a country known for equality?  Join DIS Faculty member and national expert on the Danish Royal family, Steffen Løvkjær, as he leads this tour on a journey exploring the impact of royal history and the modern welfare state on notions of equality in Danish culture and society. Through city walks and palace tours, the tour will examine symbols of power in architecture, the arts, and urban planning in Copenhagen. The tour will also explore notions of power and equality through discussions on the role of national leadership in history and today.
