DIS Students Conclude Semester with Concert at The Royal Danish Academy of Music

DIS DIS Copenhagen Semester

Each semester, DIS Copenhagen students have the chance to enroll in courses at The Royal Danish Academy of Music (RDAM). Just a 15-minute walk from DIS, RDAM is the oldest music academy in Denmark. Students can continue their music studies while abroad and further their skills at top-notch facilities, with a variety of courses that span instrument, production, and voice.

The Academy recently hosted an end-of-semester concert for seven DIS students to perform for an audience comprised of friends, fellow DIS classmates, Homestay hosts, and friends from RDAM. Congratulations to our students on their hard work:

One of the highlights of the evening was Clark Hubbard and Rashaad Greene’s Marimba Duo performance. Known as the GreeneShark Duo, Clark and Rashaad hail from Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music. When asked about the learning outcomes of taking their music collaboration abroad, Clark reflected on this by saying, “We listen to each other not only more but with a more focused ear, we feed off each other’s energy more too. It has been nice being able to work with Rashaad this semester and know that we will be able to take what we’ve done together as a duo back to the U.S.”

Rashaad and Clark recently interviewed on the DIS blog – read their story here.
