The Pratt Institute hosted their annual showcase, having had 44 Pratt students enrolled at DIS last summer. The event is driven by students and always draws a large crowd, with projects representing all disciplines – from furniture to graphic design, urban design, interior architecture, and architecture.
Meanwhile in Chicago, UIC Industrial Design students Ariel Bennick, Vanessa Rodriguez Esparza, Marco Rios, and Michael Regan organized an event to exhibit their work, featuring furniture and photography. UIC faculty, as well as DIS Director of Architecture & Design, Furniture Design, and Graphic Design Programs, Henning Thomsen, and DIS Assistant Director of International Relations, Jon Mayfield, joined the students.
Henning Thomsen applauded the event, saying, “Our good friends from the University of Illinois, Chicago, spearheaded by students from the summer 2016 courses, put on a great show of their furniture and projects from Copenhagen. It was the first time this happened, and I was thoroughly thrilled to be invited to attend. Big thumbs up from Copenhagen to Chicago for putting on this show.”Back to all news
