Architecture and Design Final Exhibition Celebrates Summer’s End

After spending the summer working in studio and the workshop, Session 4: Architecture and Design students displayed their work in a final exhibition that was open to all DIS students as well as members of the public.

DIS DIS Copenhagen Semester

This Summer’s Exhibited Projects:

  • Furniture Design in Scandinavia students put their original wooden chair prototypes on display for visitors to test out, and displayed some small-scale study models of iconic Scandinavian chairs
  • Students in Graphic Design Studio and Foundation Studio courses redesigned the visual identities for the design brand By Lassen and music venue Amager Bio; they showcased mockups of everything from business cards to security t-shirts to coasters and sketchbooks
  • With posters and models, Architecture Design Studio and Foundations Studio students shared their designs for saunas, kayak rentals and cafes, and eateries
  • Urban Design Studio students exhibited models and drawings of their projects redesigning Blågårdsplads, a square in Nørrebro, into recreational, human-scaled space
  • Interior Architecture students showed projects transforming the interior of Papirøen, Paper Island in Copenhagen, into design offices or children’s cooking schools or exhibition spaces

A group of visiting students from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) tackled museum design in an industrial building

The event was vibrant, as it was an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to recognize the outcome of the summer’s hard work, and to conclude the last Session of Summer 2016.
