Strategic Communication Core Course Collaborates with Local Danish Digital Marketing Agency

This semester the Strategic Communication core course is collaborating with digital marketing agency We Love Digital to develop a strategic communication campaign for one of the agency’s clients, Psykiatri Fonden.

DIS DIS Copenhagen Semester

Psykiatri Fonden is a non-profit organization with a mission to increase awareness and understanding of mental health in Denmark. Strategic Communication, taught by DIS faculty Martina Mahnke, will work in groups to develop a plan to increase fundraising, specifically from the private sector, for the organization. The students have already begun the six-step process to creating a campaign, which includes research, observation, developing a problem statement, receiving feedback, developing the creative process, and ultimately creating the campaign.

Throughout the semester, students will work hand-in-hand with We Love Digital. By the end of the semester, the groups will present their campaigns to the agency and Psykiatri Fonden, with the possibility of their plan being implemented by the agency.

When asked about the goal of this collaboration, Martina says she hopes this project will prepare students for ‘real-world’ projects as professionals, and give them a better understanding of the fundraising industry in Denmark.

While this is the first time working with We Love Digital, Martina tries to implement projects that include external organizations into her curriculum every semester.
