New Exciting Collaboration for the Child Development & Diversity Program

Last semester, the Child Development & Diversity program introduced a new collaboration with the Gentofte town library, giving students the opportunity to volunteer.

DIS DIS Copenhagen Semester

In addition to their practicum experiences, four Child Development & Diversity students committed to reading English books to Danish children at Gentofte Library once a month. The initiative is advantageous to both DIS students and the children. The library, located 15 kilometers north of Copenhagen, sought new efforts to push English language learning, while for DIS students, the reading sessions provided another outlet to engage in Danish culture and settings.

The collaboration was a fantastic success for both the Library and students in the Child Development & Diversity program, and there are plans for continuing the partnership this spring semester.
