Sustainable Architecture Wraps Up Climate Seminar Series

Students assembled in Studenterhuset to hear from Lasse Lind, architect of Danish firm GXN, as he led this semester’s last feature presentation of the DIS Climate Seminar series.

DIS DIS Copenhagen Semester

As a partner company of the firm 3XN, the ‘G’ in GXN stands for ‘green,’ to emphasize the firm’s research focus on ecological design and innovative material solutions for sustainable buildings. GXN works on combining knowledge not only from architects, but biologists, engineers, psychologists, and more.

With examples of past and future projects, Lasse showed how GXN works with inspiration from nature in creating new sustainable materials and designs, as well as how the company strategizes to design LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design) certified buildings.

Students in attendance engaged in a great dialogue after the presentation and during the networking event, as Lasse was happy to answer any and all questions.
