Last week, students were introduced to DIS and Copenhagen during the three-day Arrival Workshop. They had the opportunity to bond with classmates, meet our faculty, settle into new homes, start courses, and learn to navigate Copenhagen and Danish culture.
With DIS courses in full swing, we are excited to note that there is a wide array of new and exciting core courses offered for the first time this semester:
Modern Frames: European Art and Cinema
Religious Mythos and Philosophical Logos
New Media and Changing Communities
Adolescence in Northern Europe
LGBTQ in Europe: Theories, Communities, and Spaces
Looking forward, Core Course Week is fast approaching. In early September, students will spend a week with their core course faculty member on a two-day seminar in Copenhagen and a three-day study tour in Western Denmark, Southern Sweden, or Northern Germany. Students will meet with experts in the field, visit organizations, and begin to gain an understanding of the local culture.
DIS wishes current students a fantastic start to the fall semester! To see photos from last week’s workshops, head to the DIS Facebook page.
